The collection consists of personal and official papers of diplomat William Tapley Bennett from 1941 to 1980. The papers mainly document Bennett's diplomatic and ambassadorial service with the United States Department of State, the United Nations Security Council (1971-1977), and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's North Atlantic Council (1977-1983).
